Ethnomedical Uses: In Brazilian herbal medicine quinine bark is considered a tonic, a digestive stimulant, and fever-reducer. In European herbal medicine the bark is considered antiprotozoal, antispasmodic, antimalarial, a bitter tonic, and a fever-reducer.
